When is God o’clock?

“Rest in the Lord, wait patiently for him to act. Don’t fret and worry, it only leads to harm.” (Psalm 37:7-8)

How many of us have heard of the phrase “Saved by the Bell?” or “at the 11th hour”? I’m sure all of us had experienced that buzzer beater moment in our lives where we thought it is over, but God’s hand moved and we were all saved. Prayers were answered. Wishes have been granted. Grace has been given.

Here are my own “last minute” situations:

  • Russia 2011 (visa arrived a day before flight)
  • Job extended on the last day
  • Vacation after 2 years, granted a day before flight
  • RP renewed 2 days before expiration

We don’t get to plan our life according to our will. It is His plans that prevail. Things unfold in His timing, not ours.

God’s timing is never late. But it is never early either. We have to exercise complete trust, patience, and hope.

When we start asking WHEN, we don’t trust. It robs us of joy and peace. If you feel tired from wandering, you are not trusting God.

Impatience will get you into troubleProverbs 19:2 God is never in a hurry. Resting can be an act of faith. Worry only makes you miserable.

We are living in a NOW GENERATION. Everything we want, we want it quick. We want it fast. The more it is hard for us to understand how His timing works. We sometimes feel as if we were not even on God’s clock. Truth is, there was never a time that God wasn’t aware of our heart’s desire. Accept that God’s timing is not your timing. His timing will always be perfect, even when our trust in it is not. Live in hope and enjoy our lives while God is working our problems. Hold on the promise that God’s plan is good and only then, we can experience total peace and happiness.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says: Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make our paths straight.

Remind yourself that we cannot do anything if not for the Lord. Our thoughts and understanding are like a grain of salt. It is nothing. As we rest and let God do it for us, humble yourself and be hopeful.

Submit yourself to Him. When we humble ourselves by saying: “God, I don’t know what to do, but I’m trusting You.”, God gets in the gear to help us. God won’t allow us to succeed at anything unless we lean and rely on Him. And to do this, we have to be humble. “Due time” is God’s time, when God knows we’re ready not when we think we’re ready. Until then, keep your hopes up.

Parting thoughts

Ecclesiastes 3:1: To everything, there is a season and time for every matter or purpose under heaven.

God causes things to happen at the exact time it is bound to happen. Nothing is an accident. The more we trust Jesus and remain focus on Him, the more life we’ll get to have. We get to live the life we love and love the life we live. And this living life with Jesus. Trusting God brings life. Believing brings rest. Stop trying to figure everything out. Relax. Let God be God in your life and your breakthrough is coming even at the 11th hour.
