“OPEN is CLOSED for renovation. You can try L2 instead at Level 2.”
I am not sure if I was just too hungry or there was really something confusing with what I heard. The lift opened and off we went to Level 2. A modern and stylish restaurant greeted us and surprisingly empty on a dinner time. So this is L2.
We were told that yes, Open (the former restaurant downstairs) is closed at the moment and undergoing renovation and L2 now offer the same menu they previously had.
Ample seats are available for both smoking and non-smoking diners. It is a more family-friendly and casual dining set up, hence, less intimidating. They offer both a la carte and buffet options but we chose the latter.
The buffet might underwhelm you as it is relatively small but taking a closer look, the choices are great from soup, mezze, bread and of course, mains. Mains are changed daily so you might want to ring them before you go so you will have an idea what are they serving for that day.
The best (but quite confusing) part is the price. This could probably one of the very few places in Doha that offer real value for money. You can have a sumptuous and decent meal without burning a hole in your pocket. Price list is mentioned below. Take note of those early bird timings to avail further discount rates.
Breakfast: 110QR (8-10am is 70QR) a full a la carte menu also available.
Lunch: 60QR (2 courses) and 90QR (full buffet). The price includes water and tea/coffee. The full a la carte menu is also available.
Dinner: 85QR from 6pm (Early bird rate: 65QR between 6pm-7pm) and includes water. The full a la carte menu is also available.
Children (6yrs and under) are free while 6-12yrs can avail of 50% off.
The hotel also offers aviation crew, hoteliers, and teachers 30% off the price of the full buffet too.
Have you been to L2 yet? How was your experience like?
