Ritz Carlton’s Friday Farmer’s Brunch

Another weekend, another brunch scene to try. Despite the (still ongoing) blockade, Doha brunch scene is far from slowing down. Whether you are planning to move to Doha, new in Doha or aging in Doha (like myself), going for a Friday brunch is one of the things you must try (at least once). They are plenty! Last week, I tried Ritz Carlton’s Friday Farmer’s Brunch.

Taste. Interact. Experience.

Showcasing both locally produced and sourced ingredients, this theme brunch is like a homage to Qatar’s agricultural abundance. In trying times like the current situation, going local is an effective way of showing support not only to local producers but to Qatar in general.

Ritz Carlton's Friday Farmer's Brunch Farm to Fork

Freshness Guaranteed.

With a bold promise of “Farm to Fork“, each item in the buffet spread is guaranteed fresh and of top-notch quality. I must say that the selection is on the modest side compared to most Friday buffets but it makes up for the quality which for me is more important. Several stations were nicely laid out including a bread wagon, tomato and mozzarella bar, artisan cheese bar, sushi and lox bar, juice station, and roasted meat section among others.

But among all the dishes that I tried, my ultimate top pick is the avocado station. I am an avo fan myself and seeing an avocado station is so rare, it felt like I found a unicorn that day! As for drinks, don’t miss the refreshing signature watermelon ice tea.

Aside from the food, the other highlight of the Farmer’s Brunch is the opportunity to interact with live animals in a mock-up mini zoo. Kids (and even adults) can interact with these pet animals including a pony, sheep, and rabbit among others. There is also a bouncy castle and face painting station available.

Attention to details.

If the good Old McDonald decides to go for brunch, he will surely appreciate this one. Offering a unique concept of food-to-share set in country-style, farm ambiance, your inner farmboy/farmgirl will surely be unleashed. I am appreciative of details and like how my former advertising boss would always tell me: “The devil is in the details.” From the barn-like entrance, hay-bales, to a number of wagon-stations, Ritz Carlton really knows how to throw a proper “theme brunch.”

Interesting note: several items (artisanal cupcakes, homemade pies, and bread) are available for purchase. If you love the brunch experience, you can take a “piece” at home.

Overall, the farm concept definitely caters more to families and kids. While I appreciate such novelty, I know that the kids would love the experience more than I do. The crowd is lively and the music is festive. If you are looking for a rather laid back Friday brunch, maybe this is not a top recommendation. I am on the fence on the mini zoo aspect of the brunch as I do not support animals being caged for show purposes. Sure, it brings some interactive fun but it’s just not my cup of tea.

As the weather starts to become better, you have plenty more reasons to try this one out and enjoy the alfresco dining experience. Be it for the food or the interactive experience, there is something for everyone. I’ll go back just for the avocado and sushi station alone.

How about you? Which one is your favorite?

That was the best branch i have ever been too … I’ll be waiting RITZ to add Entertainer back to it’s ONE + ONE list.

Oh yes, I hope Entertainer will include them back (soon). I enjoyed the food selection too. I’m on the fence with the animals though.
